Scuba Field Day 2026

Triangle Dive Shop Scuba Field Day

June 13th, 2026 | Fantasy Lake Adventure Park

Here at TDS, we spend a rather large amount of time thinking about what makes diving so amazing. Besides the obvious things (the wildlife, coral, wrecks, weightlessness and the “cool” factor), it’s about the people. When we think about those things, it tends to leave the most important part unsaid: diving is fun! So the question we asked ourselves was what was one of the most fun days in our lives, where we could play with abandon, enjoy things that normally aren’t something we see in our day to day lives, and how could we do that underwater. It hit us..   let’s create a Field Day (like you used to have in grade school, only involving scuba diving).

We have developed a one-of-a-kind customer appreciation day that we think you will love! We are calling it the “Scuba Field Day” and it involves all kinds of activities in which EVERYONE can participate, where we will have prizes, ribbons and, most of all, fun!!

What is the Scuba Field Day?

Scuba field day is an idea developed by Amy Paur, Brian Mullins, and their scuba buddies, to have not only a unique activity for their customers, but to have fun! This comes in the form of planned scuba/water related “games” for everyone to compete in. Each underwater activity involves taking a normal, everyday “game” or task and translates it to the underwater world. More importantly, each “game” will have some type of scoring, whether it be timed or judged, and ribbons will be handed out. Each registered person who registers for the event will be entered into our general raffle, held at the end of the day (you must be present to win). So even if you don’t win a game (or happen to place 20th), you will have equal opportunity to win some amazing prizes.

Scuba Field day is our way of giving back to our amazing customers in a way that honors one of our core beliefs; diving is fun! None of these games involve any “athletic” ability that will give any person an advantage. All of the games are geared to keep heart rates low – safety comes first. They are all skill based where your diving knowledge, diving skills, and perhaps a little luck will be needed to be crowned the winner(s). Triangle Dive Shop will be providing food, t-shirts & a few other things as part of your entry fee.

New for 2026

When we launched this event in 2025, we knew we had a mountain to climb as far as seeing what worked and what didn’t. Between talking with everyone after the event, getting online feedback through our survey, we have redesigned quite a few elements for 2026 to make it even more enjoyable, easy to navigate and changing out some of the games.

  • All games will have an SMB deployed for easier navigation on the surface.
  • All games will have more than one person participating at a time,
  •  Underwater maps at each location so you can more easily navigate from one game to the next.
  • We’ve changed out the games that kill the visibility (as much as we can).
  • We’ll have 2 heats of games so everyone can participate.

Scuba Field Day Activities

Below is a list of activities you can take part in during our event. No prior sign up is needed, just go to the area designated, find the leader (in a blindingly bright-green TDS rash guard) and they’ll instruct you on when it’s your turn. Read below for details on each activity. Please note, some items may be altered depending on conditions. Your safety is our first priority so, if at any time one of our staff feels the situation is unsafe, they will immediately change the organization and possibly even cancel that particular event if deemed necessary.

EGG RACE: Using a spoon and an egg, you will be required to swim a distance while carrying the egg on a spoon. Winners are determined based on the fastest times.
RING TOSS: Put a ring on it..  or a couple. Simple game, but can you do it underwater?
PUTT-PUTT: Sticking to the sports theme, what’s the longest underwater putt you can make? Each person gets 3 attempts.
UNDERWATER DARTS: Think you have great aim? That may not help you in our version of underwater darts where we use a “torpedo” and hoops of various sizes
UNDERWATER BREAKDANCING: Wanna show off your dance moves? Here’s your chance… you’ll have 30 seconds to break out the best you have for our judge. Extra points given for creativity.
PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY (BLINDFOLDED): Think you’re a great underwater navigator? Test your skills in our blindfolded pin the tail on tje donkey game!
LIFE JACKET DUCK DIVE: This on the surface competition will have you don a lifejacket and try to achieve the deepest depth. There is a maximum depth of 15′. Winners are determined by deepest depth reached.

The Rules

With every group outing, there are rules. We strive to make this fun & safe for everyone, including our staff. Please read the rules below to ensure everyone has the best day possible.

  • Each diver MUST dive with a buddy. If you are asked where your buddy is by a staff member and they are not within a reasonable distance (what’s a reasonable distance you ask? 2 seconds away is the answer), you will not be allowed to participate in the activity until you have regained contact.
  • Safety is always our first priority. If one of our staff members sees unsafe behavior in ANY event, the event will be immediately stopped and the staff member will intervene.
  • Each person will receive a numbered tag to affix onto their BCD when they sign in. This tag will be used to keep track of your scores in each activity.
  • Only the 1st attempt in each event will be scored. You may participate multiple times but only your first score counts.
  • When the competition has concluded, the scores will be tallied and the 1st place winner in each event will receive and EPIC 1st place prize.
  • The top 5 overall scores from the Scuba Field Day will receive an EPIC gift, some awesome prizes and those all important bragging rights for an entire year.
  • Once the event is over, you will turn your tag into the staff which will count as your raffle entry; so try not to lose it. 🙂

Our Supporters

We could not put this on without the amazing support of our vendors, sponsors and, of course, our customers. Below are the companies and people who have put in time, effort or donations to make this possible:
