Welcome to Cozumel

There are destinations that divers enjoy, and then there are destinations that divers return to year after year. Cozumel belongs firmly in the second category.

Located just off Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, Cozumel has become one of the world’s most celebrated scuba diving destinations thanks to its crystal-clear water, vibrant coral reefs, and effortless drift diving. Protected as part of the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, the island offers healthy reef systems that attract divers from around the globe.

During this week-long adventure, you’ll enjoy relaxed Caribbean island life while exploring spectacular underwater landscapes filled with colorful marine life. Evenings are spent sharing stories with new friends over exceptional meals, relaxing by the beach, or simply watching another unforgettable Caribbean sunset.

At Triangle Dive Shop, we believe our trips are about more than just adding another destination to your logbook. They’re about building friendships, diving safely, learning together, and creating memories that continue long after you’ve unpacked your gear.

If you’re looking for an easy, relaxing dive vacation with incredible underwater scenery and a welcoming group of fellow divers, Cozumel delivers on every level.

Why Dive Cozumel?

Few destinations have earned the worldwide reputation that Cozumel enjoys among scuba divers. Thanks to the protection of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System—the second-largest coral reef system on Earth—the island offers healthy coral formations, abundant marine life, and exceptional water clarity throughout much of the year.

Unlike many destinations where divers spend much of the dive swimming against the current, Cozumel is famous for its gentle drift diving. Divers simply relax, maintain neutral buoyancy, and allow the current to carry them effortlessly along dramatic reef walls, towering coral pinnacles, colorful sponge gardens, and thriving marine ecosystems.

Whether you’re photographing tiny reef critters or simply taking in the incredible scenery, every dive feels like a guided underwater tour through one of nature’s most beautiful aquariums.

Why Divers Love Cozumel

  • World-famous drift diving
  • Crystal-clear water with visibility often exceeding 100 feet
  • Warm Caribbean water year-round
  • Healthy coral reefs protected within a national marine park
  • Short boat rides to many dive sites
  • Excellent conditions for underwater photography
  • Incredible variety of tropical marine life
  • Perfect destination for both newer and experienced divers

About Cozumel

Situated approximately 12 miles off Mexico’s Caribbean coastline, Cozumel is Mexico’s largest Caribbean island and has been welcoming divers from around the world for decades. While the island offers beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants, and a relaxed tropical atmosphere, its greatest treasure lies beneath the surface.

The reefs surrounding Cozumel are part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second-largest barrier reef in the world. Protected waters have allowed these reefs to flourish with vibrant hard and soft corals, massive sponge formations, and an extraordinary diversity of marine life.

Above the water, Cozumel combines authentic Mexican culture with the conveniences travelers appreciate. Visitors will find friendly locals, colorful architecture, waterfront restaurants, local shops, and a laid-back pace that makes it easy to unwind between dives.

Because June falls outside of the busiest tourist season, our group can enjoy warm weather, warm water, and outstanding diving while avoiding many of the larger crowds found during the winter months.

Whether you’re relaxing beside the pool, enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine, exploring downtown San Miguel, or descending onto one of Cozumel’s legendary reefs, you’ll quickly understand why so many divers return again and again.
